Set up
Apple System Voice.

SETUP

Follow these steps in order.

  1. Allow Accessibility

    In Yapper Settings, choose Open Settings. Enable Yapper in macOS Accessibility, then return and choose Check Again.

  2. Choose your provider

    Choose Apple System Voice. It is marked Recommended and does not need an account.

  3. Confirm no account is required

    There is no API key to add. Yapper uses the speech voices available on your Mac.

  4. Choose your narrator

    Pick a Voice and adjust Pitch or highlighting. Choose Manage macOS Voices if you want to download another voice.

  5. Set playback

    Choose how quickly the Apple voice speaks.

  6. Choose a keyboard shortcut

    Choose the shortcut button, then press the key combination you want to use in any app.

  7. Save and finish

    Choose Save and Finish. Select a short sentence in another app and press your shortcut to test it.
